[SPOILER] Zenos Cutscenes List (Complete up to end of 5.2)

Quest # Description
Level 60: "The Far Edge of Fate" 4 Zenos' first appearance. An officer reports the fall of Baelsar's Wall.
Level 60: "Where Men Go As One" 1 Zenos arrives at the Royal Palace at Ala Mhigo (no dialogue)
Level 60: "Where Men Go As One" 2 Zenos learns of the fall of Castrum Oriens and of the sole survivor of the ambush. While he is displeased at the man's weakness, his ire falls on the commander who was not with them, for the cowardice of hiding in the castrum while his men fought. First appearance of Fordola.
Level 61: "In Crimson It Began" 2 The Legion attack Rhalgr's Reach. Finding Lyse fighting Fordola, Zenos deems her potentially worthy of his interest and chooses to fight her himself. Lyse is happy to oblige, but has no power to even slightly inconvenience him. Luckily for Lyse, Y'shtola is there to run in and shield her. Unfortunately... the shield is nothing to his strength...
Level 61: "In Crimson It Began" 4 The Warrior of light holds off Fordola, while Alphinaud and Krile arrive to heal up Y'shtola before she bleeds out. Fordola is ordered to go and tend to her men, while Zenos rejoins them to test the newcomer. (cue solo duty battle #1)
Level 61: "In Crimson It Began" 5 The Warrior of Light struggles, but cannot hope to best Zenos. His sword breaks, however, and in annoyance, he withdraws rather than kill them. This was, after all, just an attempt to push their buttons and stoke their fires...
Level 64: "The Time between the Seconds" 1 Yugiri attempts to ambush the travelling Zenos and his entourage in Doma when they come to deal with the rebellion going on against Yotsuyu. However Yugiri's easily detected by him. While the Warrior of Light comes running in to help, as is their wont, Zenos is bored and looking for a challenge... (cue solo duty battle #2)
Level 64: "The Time between the Seconds" 2 While Yugiri lies fallen, the Warrior of Light is struggling to even stand. As Zenos lifts his sword to attack, they inexplicably remember Urianger's poetry. However, the fight was sufficient enough to break part of Zenos' helm, to his fascination, and as he sees the fury and determination on the Warrior's face, the beginnings of enamorment are born. Seeing them crouched like a beast, teeth bared and gaze hard even at their imminent death, Zenos smiles in pleasure and warns them to survive at all costs. "For the rush of blood, for the time between the seconds- live. For the sole pleasure left to me in this empty, ephemeral world- live!" Yugiri attempts to strike once more, but Zenos knocks her back and declares her unworthy. An arrow from Isse draws his attention, however, as a small group of natives have risen up to fight against them. Luckily for them, before Zenos can murder them all, the cavalry comes armed with smoke bombs to help them all escape without being brutally murdered by a long-haired psychopath. Zenos seems content to let them leave, however...
Level 64: "All The Little Angels" 2 Zenos is displeased with Yotsuyu. He warns her not to yield Doma to the rebels, or else he's going to kill her...
Level 67: "A Swift and Secret Departure" 2 While Zenos fantasizes about fighting the Warrior of Light, standing over the body of one of his murdered (by him) men who happened to piss him off, Fordola arrives with the captured Krile. After Krile insults him, Zenos promotes Fordola on the spot for her good work, then tells him to shut Krile the hell up.
Level 67: "The Lady of Bliss" 5 Fordola returns following her loss, to the mocking of the other Imperials. Zenos queries her about her obvious fear and she tells him that all she fears is dying without accomplishment, that she wishes for the strength to win great victories. Zenos observes her weakness - and the fervor that drives her - and takes offense to her unbecoming meekness. While Fordola finds her voice and shrieks at him, Zenos' interest in her rises once more, and he decides to offer her the strength she desires... if she's willing to risk her life for it... (First appearance of Aulus)
Level 68: "Strong and United" 1 Fordola's survival of the Resonance process leads her to query just what he's done. Aulus explains that he's attempting to transcend the Garlean inability to manipulate aether. While Fordola questions it, since she isn't Garlean, Zenos tells her that what she has is something greater. To test her new abilities, he's sending her off somewhere...
(DUNGEON) Level 70: Ala Mhigo 2 Arriving in the throne room, the Warrior of Light find Zenos (no dialogue)
(DUNGEON) Level 70: Ala Mhigo 3 While Zenos is defeated, or so it seems, he simply retreats further back into the room, to the Warrior's confusin (no dialogue)
Level 70: "Stormblood" 1 Zenos reveals his excitement at having a worthy prey. He demands that the Warrior come to the rooftop garden to fight once more and then saunters off as the Warrior confusedly stares after him.
Level 70: "Stormblood" 2 Zenos reveals the captive Shinryu in the Royal Menagerie. While the Warrior obviously ponders what the hell Zenos is rambling about, Zenos happily talks their ear off. Realizing he's getting a little overexcited, he apologizes for talking too much, then asks what he'd do if he just stood aside and let him do what he wanted to the eikon. He muses on whether the Echo renders you immune... or simply that your influence is stronger than the eikon's and thus has nothing to fear from it. He tells the Warrior that he thought the Echo could be used to control an eikon, and that Solus' decree that eikons needed to be wiped out was an act of cowardice. In the end, all he cares about is fighting... and he thinks the Warrior could do well by his side, as his friend. Alas, even if you agree, he says the only way it can end is in bloodshed. He declares them friends, who only live for the moments of battle where life hangs in the balance and only one can walk away. And with that... he frees Shinryu. He then absorbs its' power and conceals himself with it, controlling it through pure will.
Level 70: "Stormblood" 5 Shinryu falls like a comet from the sky, crashing into the ground. Zenos lies flat on his face for a moment as Lyse and Alphinaud arrive to join the Warrior. Then he tries to rise, but his injuries are so great that he's spitting out his own blood. He muses on how he's now the prey, and yet he feels only happiness. Lyse takes offense at him, but Zenos just shrugs it off. She can never understand this feeling, and how his heart is racing and he feels alive. Then Zenos puts his blade to his throat. As Lyse tries to stop him, Zenos tells the Warrior: "Farewell, my first friend... my enemy..." and ends it.
Level 70: "Rise of a New Son" 3 Asahi flashbacks to the time he met Zenos, when the man saved his life by single-handedly wiping out a group of the Liberation Front resistance fighters. Not knowing the danger, the group attempts to fight him off, but fell in just one hit. Zenos took an interest in one of their swords, developing a love for samurai blades that would last at least until Endwalker. While Asahi desperately thanks him, Zenos just muses on the sword in a way that makes Asahi think he's being complimented. Asahi then tells him about Lord Kaien and his rebels in the Doman Enclave, and what a great swordsman he is. Zenos promptly decides to go off and murder them all, as he is wont to do. Asahi, already in love, asks who the hell that was, and is given his answer. And thus the fanboying began.
Level 70: "Rise of a New Son" 8 "Zenos" briefly reveals he's alive. (no dialogue)
Level 70: "The Primary Agreement" 3 Asahi talks with "Zenos". While Asahi desperately tries not to squee, Zenos instructs him to act as their envoy to Doma and gives him his new goal: pretend to be there for peace, then find Yotsuyu and get her to summon an eikon. Asahi fanboys some more and frets that Zenos' plan isn't going to do much. Zenos just tells him he wants to remind the rebels in Garlemald of just what threat the eikons hold. Somehow, the guy who probably runs the Zenos yae Galvus fanclub never notices the change in voice and mannerisms. Maybe he thinks Zenos' injuries included several bonks to the noggin (which is entirely feasible).
Level 70: "Under the Moonlight" 1 The Scions open Zenos' grave to find his body missing. Having more than two brain cells to put together, they promptly realize he's either a zombie or possessed by an Acsian now. Meanwhile a mysterious elezen observes them with a strange expression.
Level 70: "Under the Moonlight" 2 Varis scolds Elidibus-Zenos for the Tsukiyomi summoning. Elidibus claims he was simply trying to save the planet and everything went according to plan.
Level 70: "Under the Moonlight" 3 A roegadyn soldier notices the earlier mystery elezen poking around the ruined Garlean technology there. When the elezen fails to answer him questioning, he becomes riled up - only to meet an unfortunate end at the hands of a powerful - and familiar - katana strike. The elezen muses that while he's lost many things, his mind is still his own. He'd been ready to bow out, but the story was continuing... He briefly muses if he should be repenting right now, and decides nope! He's going to keep being villainous as long as the warrior of light is there for him to hunt down and fight. And thus he flies off in one of the bitty ships there.
Level 70: "Prelude in Violet" 3 Elidibus gloats to Varis, and tells him to give the order to attack Ala Mhigo and tear the nation to shreds. He then takes offense to Varis' lack of interest in him, given he's doing what he can for the Empire. He tells him to be quick about his decision and leaves, deeply salty that he's not trusted by the father of the revived corpse he's walking around in. First appearance of Emet-Selch (bitching about Elidibus yanking him back from his nap). Varis is fed up with both of them and after giving them the silent treatment, shoots Emet-Selch. It doesn't last.
Level 70: "A Requiem for Heroes" 2 Hien, Yugiri, Lyse and some redshirts try to hold off Elidizenos while waiting for us. (No dialogue)
Level 70: "A Requiem for Heroes" 3 Elidibus-Zenos beats the crap out of our friends. The warrior of light rushes in to intervene before he kills them.
Level 70: "A Requiem for Heroes" 4 The warrior of light takes Elidibus-Zenos down, but the ascian immediately revives, since no white auracite was used. When he goes in for the attack, however, the warrior of light is paralysed by the summoning attempt from the First... and Elidibus happily takes advantage of it.
Level 70: "A Requiem for Heroes" 6 Elidibus protests being recalled home, only to be told that all of Garlemald is freaking out due to rumors of his very true possession of Zenos' body. The two argue, Elidibus storms off, and Varis reveals he's fucknut insane and producing Black Rose again.
Level 70: "A Requiem for Heroes" 9 Zenos (the real one) stands over a corpse at the location of the prior Elidibus fight and promptly Resonances into seeing what happened. He's unhappy he missed the warrior of light. Meanwhile an imperial centurion sees him there and attacks him. Zenos one-shots the poor bastard, then grumbles about the warrior having wandered off somewhere. "A pity your hunt leads you elsewhere... not that I am surprised. May you find joy in it. Grow stronger, more savage, and savour every triumph... In the meantime... I will reclaim that which is rightfully mine." And with that, he walks ominously towards the body of the centurion...
Level 76: "Out of the Wood" 2 Gaius and Estinien discuss suspicion happenings while in the middle of Garlemald. They suspect another ascian is at play, as a body has recently disappeared and may well have come here. Meanwhile Zenos, now in the body of the centurion, gripes to himself about how boring he finds "bloodless sports" and how his father won't recognize him, so he can't just go to him. He then goes all creeper stalker again, talking about how only the warrior of light's hand can make him whole again. Since the warrior isn't clearing the path for him any more, and he has no idea where they are, he's going to take things in hand himself. And so he heads off towards the imperial palace.
Level 78: "A Breath of Respite" 2 Elidibus-Zenos claims he's somehow managed to quash the rumors that Zenos' body is possessed by a demon. This entirely believable claim aside, he thinks Emet-Selch has gone to murder the First. Elidibus has learnt from him that the warrior of light and the Scions are now stuck in the First and thinks this is a grand time to go defeat the Alliance. While Elidibus urges Varis to order them to war, Zenos scolds him for being out of character. However, he's thankful to know where the warrior of light is, at least. He hopes they're having fun. He asks for more details, and Elidibus senses who's really in that corpse. He's shocked that someone with merely a borrowed Echo can make use of a power like that and comments that Zenos outdid himself. While Varis just stares in blank shock, Zenos approaches, retorting that he doesn't care about his name, but he did like his body... and he wants it back. "Your secrets or your flesh. I care not which you give me first. The choice is yours."
Level 80: "Shadowbringers" 9 Gaius, Estinien and his group infiltrate the palace, only to find bodies everywhere - and very cleanly killed at that. One single blow each. Gaius is unhappy. Estinien is awkward. Varis is screaming. Gaius promptly runs to his rescue, only to find Varis impaled on Zenos' sword. Zenos (now in his rightful body) tells Gaius he's late. Gaius mistakes him for Elidibus, but Zenos tells him the guy ran like a bitch, leaving his body behind. Zenos is loving having his body back. Gaius doesn't believe him, but Varis confirms it's true, warning him not to attack. Varis breaks off Zenos' sword, snarling at him for being greedy and wanting the Empire. Zenos promptly tells him he's got the wrong end of the stick. He doesn't care about the Empire, he's just mad that Varis was going after the warrior of light. While Varis gawks at him - "You would kill me just for that...?" - Zenos lifts his broken sword and tells him he'll kill anyone who interferes with his hunt, and kills him dead. He then crazyfaces about Elidibus having told him about Zodiark and Hydaelyn and their primal nature, and decides he wants to consume them before he goes after the warrior again. Gaius rages at his crush Emperor's murder, and rushes at him, to Zenos' faint amusement.
Level 80: "Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty" 2 Echo flashback of what happened after the prior scene. Zenos deflects Gaius easily, Estinien suggests they fight him together. While the inexplicably glowy Zenos is happy to fight them, even their combined might can't take him down. However, Zenos has managed to deflect their combo attack with a barrier, and is happily musing on how good it is to be back in his body. Gaius rudely calls him an abomination, While Estinien muses that they might be fucked, the arrival of imperial guards makes Zenos irritated and he teleports off in a flurry of darkness... just like an Ascian.
Level 80: "Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty" 6 Garlemald lies in flames, as riots fill the streets and the sounds of explosions are heavy on the air. The different leigons are fighting, civil war is ongoing... and Zenos finds it all pitifully boring. A mysterious voice chirps in that they find it entertaining, and Zenos turns to find a mysterious man in white. His Resonance reveals that the man's soul is a familiar hue, and asks his name, and the Ascian (of course it's an Ascian) tells him "Before your majesty, I am just another dog. Lost, in want of a new master. A hunting dog if you should wish it so." He tells him he knows Zenos' prey is now Zodiark. Zenos is silent, but clearly intrigued.
Level 80: "Echoes of a Fallen Star" 4 Zenos' dream of the end of the original world. (No dialogue.)
Level 80: "Echoes of a Fallen Star" 5 The aftermath of the prior scene. Zenos awakens... seated on a throne somewhere, with the white robed Ascian having been hanging around while he slept. Zenos, with no concern for his future back pain, answers his query about his recurring dream to tell him what he sees. The Ascian wonders if this is Emet-Selch's work, since few people remember the Final Days. Zenos is interested, and the Ascian offers to tell him the story. "The tale of the world's end."
